Who Can Enroll?

Govans Elementary is a neighborhood charter school operated by the Baltimore Curriculum Project. Like all charter schools in Maryland, our school is tuition-free and non-sectarian. As a neighborhood conversion charter, our priority is first to serve students living in our neighborhood enrollment zone. Any Kindergarten through 5th grade child living in this zone may enroll at any time, without participating in a lottery.  If you live or are moving to this zone, call or email the school to enroll.

Pre-Kindergarten

Developing the confidence, social skills, and academic background to be a successful learner begins in our Pre- Kindergarten program. Our Pre-K program is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) which recognizes our commitment to providing a high-quality learning environment that supports the growth and development of our students.

To enroll in Pre-K, your child must be 4 years old prior to September 1. Priority is given to students who meet the age requirement and are considered low-income, homeless, or receive special education services. All Pre-K registration must be done online through Baltimore City Public Schools.

Non-zoned students

We also serve non-zoned elementary students throughout Baltimore City.

If there are no vacancies at the time, students can be added to a waitlist for the current academic year or lottery for the upcoming school year.
